Maintenance
How to change the
MAZE filter.
The MAZE filter is recommended for replacement every 6 months. Replacing it takes under a minute.
- Open the front panel to reach the filter bay.
- Twist the used MAZE cartridge a quarter-turn and pull it straight out.
- Insert the new cartridge and twist until it clicks into place.
- Run water for ~2 minutes to prime, then reset the filter timer in the app.
Maintenance
How to replace
the UV lamp.
The UV lamp keeps your water fresh between pours and is replaced about every 12 months.
- Power down the unit and let the lamp cool for a few minutes.
- Open the lamp housing and gently remove the old lamp.
- Slide the new UV lamp in until seated, then close the housing.
- Power back on and reset the UV timer in the app.

Quick troubleshooting
Small fixes, fast answers.
A slowdown usually means the MAZE filter is near the end of its life. Check the filter timer in the app — if it's due, swap in a fresh cartridge and prime it for two minutes.
A new filter can need a short break-in. Run water for about two minutes after installing a fresh MAZE cartridge. If the taste persists, reach out and we'll help.
BetterTap tracks its own filter and UV lamp life. When the app flags maintenance, order the part from the refills section, follow the guide above, and reset the timer.
